Last meal in Portland called for whole lobster dinner. This was one if the few places on yelp we could find that served whole lobsters.
We got the 1 1/8 lb Lobster Dinner at market price ($19.99), Lobster Stew at market price ($9.99), and a blueberry pie (they don't advertise this). Not bad for our last meal. Can't really go wrong with the lobster dinner. The lobster stew had strong flavors and came with a chunk of lobster claw meat on top. Blueberry pie was served cold. I was a little sad because I was hoping it would be served warm.
This place can get pretty packed since it's located right by the waterfront. So be prepared to wait a little! -

Very casual place right on the water. Enjoyed the band playing , the hostess and women at the bar taking our food order.
Limited menu for someone who doesn't like or can't have seafood. My wife who can't have seafood ordered a grilled cheese sandwich & chicken tenders from the children's menu and both were ok.
I ordered two lobster rolls. Plenty of lobster but not enough hot butter for my taste. French fries were good.
I'd go back just to sit on the deck for a drink and listen to a band. -

Waiting for an hour for fried shrimp, a crab cake and clams. Was disappointing I thought my buzzer was broken.
If you like waiting for appetizers pay for 4 hours of parking. Not a larger crowd either.
Additionally, came here last year and the place was packed. We had a good experience. -

4.5 stars. Had the lobster roll. Simple but perfectly toasted roll, fresh big chunks of lobster with a little butter. Fries tasted good but a little cold. Cole slaw was ok and atmosphere was very nice. Sat out on the pier. Blueberry beer on tap was delicious and the lobster roll was awesome!! We were on vacation in Maine for a week and this was the best lobster roll I had.

Okay, I decided to venture to Portland Lobster Co, because I've heard / seen / read amazing reviews about their Lobster roll! I have tried lobster rolls elsewhere and the verdict is in... *drum roll*
I was not impressed by their lobster roll at all. My expectations were failed. The fries and the coleslaw were good *I mean you can't really mess up fries*.
There were plenty of lobster on the toast. The presentation was beautiful, but the taste alone was not there. Although the bread was perfectly toasted, it could have used some butter. The lobster did not taste seasoned at all.. Old Bay seasoning would have even added a decent taste. The lobster was extremely bland. In my opinion, this restaurant is overrated in regards to their lobster roll.
